HAIR CARE: IMPROVED HAIR GROWTH

Essential oils: carrot, lavender, rosemary, sage, thyme.
Cold pressed oils: evSning primrose, jojoba, olive oil, castor oil.
Herbs: catmint, chamomile, nettle, parsley, red sage, rosemary, parsley, thyme, watercress and yarrow. Prepare a herbal decoction and add to 1 litre 25 ml of apple cider vinegar.
Use as a hair rinse and a lotion to massage into the scalp.
Food: washing the scalp with salt water helps increase hair growth. Apply garlic juice onto a bald head and leave to dry, repeat 3 times a week for a few weeks to help improve hair growth. Crushed lemon seeds, see as in rubbish section.
Kombucha: rinse with kombucha hair rinse and massage kombucha tea into scalp.
Urine: is massaged into the scalp and left to absorbed for half an hour to one hour. Then the head is washed with luke warm water only. It is not recommended to use shampoo or soap

Guava bark and leaves can be used in shampoo and as a hair rinses for shining hair and to relieve itchy scalp conditions.
Pre – Conditioner
Guava oil 10 ml, guava vinegar 5 ml, whole egg 1, rosemary essential oil 5 drops. Shake lotion and apply to dry hair, wrap hair into a towel and leave on for 10 minutes. Apply shampoo straight onto hair conditioner before adding water, shampoo twice and rinse well. To the final rinse add 2 tbsp. of guava vinegar.
Hair Shampoo
Hair Rinse
Guava vinegar 2 tbsp.. essential oils – rosemary 2 drops, sandalwood 2 drops . Add to the final rinse water for a healthier scalp.
Hair Lotion
Boil up guava leaves and old bark, allow to cool. Rub into scalp and hair for healthier shiny hair.

Spirulina is rich in protein which is what the hair needs to be fed with internally and externally. This leads to healthy, shiny and sleek hair
Protein Sudless Shampoo
This shampoo will cleanse and nourish the hair without stripping the natural oils. Can be used for all hair types.
Whole egg 1-2 (depending on hair length), milk 3 tbsp., spirulina powder 1 l/2g (l/2tsp), lavender essential oil 3 drops. Whisk the ingredients together until thoroughly blended. Wet hair and use as a normal shampoo. Rinse off thoroughly, adding ltbsp of cider vinegar or kombucha to the final litre of rinsing water.
Body Building Shampoo
This shampoo enhances body and shine, and rejuvenates the hair follicles Natural shampoo 1/8 cup, filtered water 1/4 cup, 1/2 fresh avocado. Combine all ingredients into a blender, and blend until smooth. Wet hair and apply shampoo, gradually adding warm water and working into a lather.
Rinse thoroughly until the hair is clean. Then use a hair conditioner, and add 3 drops of lavender essential oils, then rinse thoroughly .

RECIPES FOR HEALTHY HAIR

Herbal infusion: to make up a standard herbal infusion. Place all the herbs into a bowl, add boiling water over the herbs. Cover and steep overnight, then strain. Use infusions for shampoos, conditioners, hair rinses , colouring and treatments. Appropriate herbs are the herbs for your specific hair type. Be creative and change your formulas, for the hair likes to be fed with variety.
Essential oils: penetrate deeply into the hair shaft and follicle and produce healthy, sinning hair. Use to add to shampoos, conditioners, hair rinses, lotions and oils. Add 15-25 drops of essential oils to 200 mis of shampoo or conditioner.
Conditioner
The following conditioning formulas should be massaged into the hair and scalp, combed through and left on for 20 – 30 minutes. Cover hair with a plastic shower cap to retain the heat. It is best to use before shampooing your hair.
Egg and honey: beat one egg, stir in 3 ml (l/2tsp) honey, and 75 ml (l/2cup) of herbal infusion.
Herbal oil and honey: place into ajar 1/2 cup of herbal oil and 1 cup of honey, shake well and leave to steep for 2 days.
Cold pressed oils: can be used as a pre- conditioner, slightly heat the oil and add essential oils for extra benefits.
Kombucha: rain water 275 ml, 25 g of dried rosemary herbs, 275 ml of kombucha vinegar. Bring the water to boil, add rosemary and simmer for 10 minutes, then strain, cool and bottle. Use the lotion after the hair has been washed, then rub vigorously into the scalp with finger tips.

Normal Hair
This is shiny and easy to manage. Wash once a week with a mild natural based shampoo.
Herbs: burdock, catnip, fennel, horsetail, nettle lavender, rosemary.
Essential oil: carrot, eucalyptus, evening primrose, eucalyptus, geranium, lavender, lemon, rosemary.
Dry Hair
This is difficult to control after shampooing, looks dull and has ends that are dry and split. It is best to use a creamy natural shampoo and wash once a week.
Herbs: burdock root, comfrey, chamomile, elder flower, lime flowers, marshmallow, horsetail, stinging nettle, parsley, sage Essential oils: carrot, calendula, chamomile, clary sage, geranium, lavender, rosemary, sandalwood.
Oily Hair
This hair type looks good for a day or two after shampooing, but then becomes lank and clings together in unattractive strands. Wash frequently about three times a week with a lemon based natural shampoo.
Herbs: elder flower, horsetail, lavender, lemon balm, marigold, peppermint, rosemary, southern wood, sting nettle, witch hazel, yarrow
Essential oils: basil, cypress, eucalyptus, lavender, lemon, peppermint, rosemary, thyme.

FOOT CARE: TREAT YOURSELF TO A FOOT BATH

Warm Foot Bath
Start with warm water, then increase temperature by adding hot water. Soak feet for several minutes.
Use: for asthma, bronchial spasm, for sore throats, first sign of a cold, mild catarrh and sore tired feet.
Hot Foot Baths
The feet are dipped only for a split second in hot water. After the feet have adapted to the temperature, the duration of the dipping is increased. Use: relieves cramps in feet and legs, menstrual cramps, sore throat or a cold, pain of gout and neuralgia, for nervous headaches, insomnia, good for blood circulation and cold feet.
Alternate Hot and Cold Foot Bath
Steep feet in hot water for 3 minutes, then in cold water for 20-30 seconds. Repeat 3 times ending with cold.
Use: sedates and stimulates the body, good for circulation, headaches, ankle swelling, foot infections, chilblains, cold feet, neuralgia and relieves congestion in the abdomen and pelvic organs.
Kombucha Foot Bath
Add 200 ml of kombucha tea or 30 ml kombucha vinegar to 2 litres of warm water to a large bowl. Soak as described previously.

Skin – rough
Papaya: the red Indians rub their rough skin with the fleshy side of the skin of a ripe papaya fruit.
Kombucha : use a kombucha culture to rub into the skin, then rinse and apply kombucha cream.
Cold pressed oils: see chapped skin.
Urine, rub in old or fresh urine daily.
Cold pressed oils: massage either a mixture of or as a singular oil -borage seed calendula, carrot oil, castor oil, rose-hip oil, olive sweet almond oil, vitamin E and wheatgerm.
Essential Oils: borage seed, lavender, neroli, frankincense, chamomile, sandalwood, carrot seed, myrrh, patchouli, yarrow, rosewood. Add 10 drops borage seed, 5 drops carrot seed oil to 30 ml almond oil and 15 ml wheatgerm oil, Shake the oils together and massage into the skin twice a day.
Skin – Hard
Papaya: use the latex, squeezed leaves or the fleshy side of the skin from a green fruit. Apply repeatedly. Try foot bath’s using Papaya vinegar.

Kombucha Toner: kombucha brew 20 ml, lavender water 80 ml, plantain tincture 5 drops. Mix ingredients together. Use twice daily. Kombucha Moisturiser: bee’s wax 15 g, olive oil 100 ml, wheat-germ oil 15 ml, calendula oil 10 ml, kombucha fungus cream 2 tsp., lavender essential oil 1 ml. Heat the oils and wax together, in a double saucepan. When the mixture melts remove from-heat. Allow to cool slightly before adding the kombucha fungus cream and essential oils. Pour into a 120 g jar. Apply a small amount to moist skin and massage it in well. Use twice daily.
Kombucha Mask: white clay 20 g, cornflower 20 g, calendula tincture 1 drop, lavender essential oils 5 drops, kombucha brew 5 ml. Mix ingredients together and add water if needed to make a soft paste. Apply with a soft pastry brush. Avoid contact with the eyes! Let mask dry. Rinse with warm water. Use once a week.
Kombucha Fresh Mask: kombucha cream culture, 1 tbsp., pure honey 1 tsp., 1 whole egg, 1 tsp. oatmeal, 1 tsp. buttermilk, Mix ingredients together and apply to well cleansed skin. Leave for 10 to 15 minutes. Rinse with warm water thoroughly, then cold.

Peas – bathe chickenpox with the water in which the peas have been boiled. This can prevent itching and forming pit marks on the skin.
Potato skin – the inside rubbed onto blemishes, blackheads, eczema, to melt away wrinkles, for puffy eyes and to banish age spots. It even relieves nettle stings, scratches and insect bites.
Pineapple – is a corn and wart cure. Cut off a small piece of the peel and bind the inner side of the peel to the corn or wart then cover with a band aid. Leave it on overnight and repeat until the condition has cleared.
Onion – brown onion skins are boiled and used as a hair rinse for grey or dark hair to enhance the present colour. Onion skins are a super hair conditioner, place onion skins into a saucepan cover with boiling water, steep overnight. Use as a final rinse after shampooing the hair. Raw onions are beneficial in treating warts, tinea, athletes foot. Onion juice is used for ear ache and ringing in the ears. Roasted onion poultice is applied to boils and wounds. Raw onion mashed can be applied to blemishes.
